Bandwagoning

This is EW's top 100 films of the last 25 years. Btw, who are EW? Entertainment Weekly?

So 38 I haven't seen. Will have to get some of them next time I'm feeling bored and lazy. Not what I would have imagined would be on the top 100.

Windows that sob

We're forming vague plans to get one of hose DVS, HRV, whatever-you-call-em things for ventilation. Anyone done that before? There seem to be so many available. Will have to see if I can find a consumer magazine about it or something.

Last day in this job

We had farewell morning tea yesterday. One of my teammates made my card, it's very cool. And we had chocolate cake company cakes, 'cos their delicious. I even found the box and took some home. Have left some for Chris, and packed a couple of slices to ply mum with in case she gets low on sugar on the way to Nelson tonight. :-)

I'll be sad to leave this job, though as Wellington is a tiny village I'm sure I'll still see folk. Really think I might need a scooter if I'm going to make any lunch dates though.
:-)

Lunchtime musing.

In order to get the recommended daily dose of ginseng (200+ mg) from the drink that knows it's own name (Ch'i) I would have to consume 4167 of these little bottles.

2007 events

We're having a debate so I thought I'd poll you all:
What do you think were the most significant events in 2007 for NZ and the world?

Apparently, there were articles in the paper, but we all missed them.

Thanks for all your thoughts.

Thanks for all the kind messages, it's good to hear from you all.
We have been so very busy this week. I'd never have believed there could be so much to do! Sorry to the people I haven't managed to ring back. We've been at mum's house all day, every day, and it's a busy phone line.
Dad's funeral is tomorrow; 2pm at the Duxton. A bunch of the relies are flying up, including my grandmother, so everything slid a bit to give them some time. Hopefully it'll be a good send off.
Not the most inspiring post, brain is a bit blank sorry. :-) Least the sun has been out, here's hoping for a nice weekend.

So you all know...

Our dad died suddenly on Saturday. He was over at the grove. He is with the coroner at the moment. We're planning the funeral for Friday at 2 o'clock at the Duxton function room.

Edit: 2pm now, as my nan's coming up on a plane for the day.

Sweetie!

Does anyone have a favourite chocolate mousse recipe? I don't like the ones I've got and want to make it for Christmas. I could google, but then I'd have to make half a gazillion to find out which ones are actually nice...

Edit: :-P Sass. Though think I could be partial to chocolate quadrupeds too.

Taxi soon

I have figured out why the cricket teams always fly over to hot climates a week before the actual match... it's so they can cover such essential training as "How To Drink Your Own Body Weight In Water Twice A Day" and "Quit Yer Whining, We're All Hot".
It's been sunny and raining at the same time today. Don't think I want to know what the humidity level is today. :)
Had a good morning though, I've been to 2 of the big mosques this morning - Abdul Gaffoor Mosque is actually just down the road and Sultan Mosque is about 5-10 minutes walk away. Very intricate. Can see why they took years to build. Didn't dare go into to them though; not quite sure if short pants, short sleeves, and fluffy hair is appropriate. :) Probably just being overly cautious.
Going to call a taxi off to the airport soon. I could catch the MRT, but that would mean lugging my suitcase for 5 blocks or so and given the taxi should only be about $15, I really can't be bothered.
See y'all soon. :)

Fun

Fun for runners, and walkers, and gosh just anyone who likes clicking about and reading interesting little numbers after wards.

On this website you can mark in your running/walking/novelty journey and have it tell you how far it is, and (if you enter in how long it took you) what your pace was and how many km you covered. FUN. A round trip from my house down to the Challenge and back is about 2.8km. Now I have ANOTHER website to fritter time away on. He he.

Am the olive oil girl

I have got over my silly bout of nerves and have olive oil at work yesterday and today to entice my co-workers. Is going really well! I put a note on the intranet yesterday and had an open bottle and some bread for tasting today. Everyone seems to be going for the larger bottles, which I have run out of and will have to bring more on Monday for people. I was expecting the little bottles to go faster, but I guess I must have an already-fond-of-olive-oil crowd. :)

I'm eating cherries. There was a stall on Lambton Quay. Yum.

Sunshine!

I compliment the pretty sunshine with the pretty new top I'm wearing. I made it this week. It's view C, the blue one, except I made it in a fabulous cheerie yellow with pink and black flowery bits.
It's all spotlight's fault; I only wanted to buy cotton, but their car park was insanely busy so I had to go down to the fabric warehouse.
Where all the pretty fabric lives.
I am summer! :)

Digital photos get printed!

Has anyone got a favourite place for getting digital photos developed? Have nearly 70 from various holidays to catch up on. They're all ready to go, nicely 4x6. Don't have broadband though, so can't really email to a site. Could post though. Anyone?
Also, if anyone has a nice pic from ma sister-in-law's hen's tea party, or from [info]sekhmut and hive_mind's wedding, I have gaps in my photo album. Please, please, please?

Dayy dreaming, chain smoking, always laughing, always joking.

Pour a cup of blaack coffee.
Don't even know how I managed to get this song. Don't own an All Saints album. Mix cd somewhere?

So we went out for team coffee and given I'm still forbidden the cow, I thought I'd try a black coffee. You know, it really does taste like what it is - toasted bean water. Don't know why this surprised me. But it was actually drinkable, unlike last time I tried one and it just made me shivver.

Suffice to say with that and half a bottle of V in me, I'm REALLY gregarious just at the minute. If you could only see me type, hehe! Going backwards as much as forwards.

Aside (presuming the audience hasn't already fled): Evidently you cannot have a bouncy or hyper goth girl. Does anyone know how to make those moving mood things? Had an idea for one that I thought might be fun and me-ish.
